The Tradr Guide · Your Track Record

Equity & Account Balance

Your equity is the single most important number on your profile. It represents your cumulative track record as a trader on Tradr.

How equity works

Every account starts with an equity of 100, representing 100% of a notional account. This is not real money — it's a standardized way to measure and compare performance.

Equity is multiplicative. When you close a trade: - Win: Your equity multiplies upward. If you had 100 equity and gained 5%, your new equity is 105. - Loss: Your equity multiplies downward. If you had 105 equity and lost 2%, your new equity is 102.9.

This compounding effect means your equity curve reflects exactly how a real trading account would grow or shrink over time.

Equity badge

The equity badge on your profile and trade cards shows your performance relative to the 100 baseline: - Equity 115 → displays as "+15.00%" - Equity 87 → displays as "-13.00%" - Equity 100 → displays as "0.00%" (gray)

Blown accounts

If your equity drops to zero or below after a closing trade, your account is "blown." For live accounts: - Your equity resets to 100 so you can keep trading. - A permanent "blown" badge appears on your profile. - Your blown count increments (visible as "times blown").

For demo accounts, blowing is not permanent. You can reset your demo at any time, which clears all demo trades and resets demo equity to 100.

Live equity vs Demo equity

These are tracked separately. Your live equity reflects your real performance and affects your public stats and leaderboard position. Demo equity is for practice only.

Equity on Tradr is notional and informational. It does not represent real money, real positions, or real gains and losses — it's a scoring mechanism, not an account balance.
