This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Tradr collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to your use of the Tradr platform and is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data when you use Tradr:

Information you provide

• Account details: name, email address, date of birth, username, country, profile photo
• Trading content: trade ideas, analyses, comments, and other content you post
• Payment information: processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details
• Communications: messages you send to us via email

Information collected automatically

• Device information: device type, operating system, browser type
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, interaction patterns
• Push notification tokens: device identifiers used to deliver notifications

2. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your account
• To display your profile, trades, and track record
• To process subscriptions and payments
• To send notifications about activity relevant to you (follows, likes, trade updates)
• To maintain platform security and prevent abuse
• To improve the platform based on usage patterns
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract: processing necessary to provide the Tradr service you signed up for
• Legitimate interests: platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement
• Consent: push notifications and analytics (you can opt out at any time)
• Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws and regulations

4. Third-Party Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, database, authentication, payment processing, analytics, and notification delivery. Each provider is bound by data-processing agreements and processes your data solely on our instructions. Where data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place as required by UK GDPR.

5. Your Track Record Data

Closed trade data forms part of the platform's core function of providing verified, permanent trading records, and is retained as such. If you delete your account, your personal identifiers are removed and your trading record stays: the numbers, outcomes and timestamps of your published live trades remain on Tradr permanently, attached to an anonymous placeholder that carries nothing linking the record to you. 6. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only while your account is active.

If you delete your account, deletion happens immediately — not within 30 days, not on a schedule. In one operation we erase your name, email, date of birth, avatar, banner, bio, country, and every comment and message you wrote. We also delete your identity from the external services we use: our email list, push notifications, analytics, and our payment processor. Your login is deleted too — there is nothing left to sign in to.

One thing stays: your trading record. The numbers, outcomes, and timestamps of your published live trades remain on Tradr permanently, attached to an anonymous placeholder — no name, no photo, nothing that links it to you. That permanence is what makes a Tradr track record worth trusting: if deleting an account could erase a bad run, every record here would be worthless. Once your identity is severed from it, what remains is not personal data — it's numbers with dates, belonging to no one.

Your username is retired permanently. Nobody can register it again — including you.

7. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use your personal data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Any performance, ranking, or statistical calculations shown on the platform are informational only and are derived from your own recorded trading activity.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data (subject to our retention policy for published trades)
• Restrict processing in certain circumstances
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

Tradr uses two categories of cookies and local storage:

• Strictly necessary: required for authentication, session management, and remembering essential preferences. These are always on and do not require consent.
• Analytics: our privacy-first analytics provider helps us understand how Tradr is used so we can improve the product. These are only enabled if you accept them via our cookie banner.

On your first visit you are shown a cookie banner with equally prominent Accept and Reject options. Your choice is stored locally on your device. To change your decision, clear your browser's site data for Tradr and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.

11. International Transfers

Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or transfers to jurisdictions with an adequacy decision, as required by UK GDPR.

12. Children

Tradr is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete the associated data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
