Closing & Editing a Trade
Closing a trade
You can close any open trade manually during market hours. Go to your profile, the trades terminal, or the trade detail page and tap "Close trade."
You'll see the current market price and can choose: - Full close — Close 100% of your remaining position. - Partial close — Close a specific percentage (e.g., 50%) and leave the rest running.
On close, you can optionally upload a chart image showing your analysis at exit.
Trades can only be closed during market hours. If the market is closed (weekends for forex, for example), the close button will be disabled.
Editing an open trade
While a trade is open, you can adjust your stop loss and take profit, and you can take partials. Moving your stop loss lets you lock in profits by pulling it to breakeven or into profit territory. Every one of these actions is written to the trade's immutable activity timeline, so the full history stays visible.
What's locked
Once a trade is activated, these can never change: - Entry price - Direction (BUY/SELL) - Market and mode (live/demo) - Risk percentage
These are locked to keep your track record honest. If you could change your entry or risk after seeing the market move, your stats would be meaningless.
Deleting trades
- Demo trades can be deleted at any time.
- Pending trades (not yet activated) can be cancelled.
- Live open or closed trades cannot be deleted. Ever. This is a core principle of Tradr — no hiding losses, no rewriting history.
