The Tradr Guide · Trading
Demo vs Live Mode
Every trade on Tradr is posted in one of two modes: Live or Demo.
Live mode
Live trades are your real track record. They count toward all your public stats — win rate, profit factor, equity, and leaderboard position. Live trades cannot be deleted once activated.
Your live equity starts at 100 (representing 100% of a notional account). Every win compounds it up, every loss compounds it down.
If your live equity drops to zero or below after a losing trade, your account is marked as "blown." This is permanent and visible on your profile. You can continue trading with a fresh equity reset, but the blown badge stays. Your live blown count is tracked.
Demo mode
Demo trades are for practice. They use a separate demo equity balance (also starting at 100) and do not affect your public stats or leaderboard ranking.
Demo trades can be deleted at any time. If your demo account blows, you can reset it — this deletes all demo trades and resets your demo equity back to 100.
Which should I use?
- Use Demo when you're learning the platform, testing a new strategy, or just want to practice without consequences.
- Use Live when you're ready to build your public track record and be judged on your real performance.
Key differences at a glance
Live: permanent, counts toward stats, cannot be deleted, blown is permanent. Demo: practice only, separate equity, can be deleted, can be reset entirely.
The mode of a trade is locked at creation. You cannot switch a live trade to demo or vice versa.
