How to Post a Trade Idea

Posting a trade idea is the core action on Tradr. A trade idea is a structured trade that gets tracked against real market prices.

What you need to post

  • Market — Search and select the pair you're trading (e.g., EUR/USD, BTC/USD, XAU/USD).
  • Direction — BUY (you think the price will go up) or SELL (you think it will go down).
  • Mode — Live or Demo. Live trades count toward your permanent track record. Demo trades are for practice.
  • Order type — Market (execute immediately at current price), Limit, or Stop (execute when price reaches your entry level).
  • Entry price — The price at which your trade opens. For market orders, this is the current market price.
  • Stop loss — Required. The price at which your trade will automatically close at a loss. This is mandatory on Tradr to enforce proper risk management.
  • Take profit — Optional. The price at which your trade will automatically close at a profit.
  • Risk percentage — How much of your account you're risking on this trade (shown as a % of equity).
  • Analysis — Optional. Write a brief explanation of your trade thesis.
  • Chart — Optional. Upload a screenshot of your chart analysis.

After you post

If you chose a market order, your trade goes live immediately with status "open." If you chose a limit or stop order, it goes into "pending" status and activates when the market reaches your entry price.

Once activated, the entry price, direction, market, mode, and risk are locked for good. While the trade is open you can still adjust your stop loss and take profit or take partials — and every one of those actions is recorded in an immutable activity timeline. Closed trades can't be altered, and a live trade can never be deleted.

A trade idea, not advice

Everything you post on Tradr is a personal trade idea shared for informational purposes only. It is not financial advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation for anyone else to trade.

Risk budget

Your total risk across all open and pending live trades cannot exceed 100% of your equity. The post screen shows your available risk before you submit.
